The Welsh capital is to host an open air concert on Sunday, August 1 with some of Wales’ singers carving out names for themselves. The event had to be postponed due to the Covid pandemic and forms part of an inaugural Live Under the Stars Cardiff festival at Cardiff Castle.
Fresh from her success as Oriana in Handel Amadigi at Garsington Opera, much acclaimed star soprano Rhian Lois shares the stage with young tenor Trystan Llyr Griffiths who also sang at Garsington in Don Giovanni pre pandemic, and competition-winning baritone Steffan Lloyd Owen.
Also performing will be young performers of a local children’s singing academy, Academi Berfformio Caerdydd, and harpist Alis Huws. They will perform with the Welsh Pops Orchestra conducted by Morriston Orpheus Choir Conductor Emeritus Alwyn Humphreys.
There is still good ticket availability.
